The second day of testing at the Hungaroring was also productive for the Sauber F1 Team. Nobuharu Matsushita was in the cockpit of the Sauber C36-Ferrari, completing his first Formula One test. The programme on day two consisted of aerodynamic tests in the morning and mechanical tests in the afternoon. The Japanese driver was able to have his first experience driving a Formula One car, and completed a total of 121 laps.

Nobuharu Matsushita:
“It was a very interesting day for me. I completed 121 laps in total, which is the furthest distance I have ever covered in one day in a formula car. It felt amazing – the car had much more down-force than what I am used to in Formula 2, and the possibility of braking so late into the corners was a great sensation. Overall, the processes within the team were on a very high level. I learned a lot today, and I am very happy to have had the chance to participate at this in-season test.”

What comes next:
The Sauber F1 Team is returning to Hinwil and starting its summer break during the annual F1 factory shutdown from the 5th until the 19th August 2017.
